Hi, I am looking to visit area of Nice next year and want to see Gorges du verdon. We will have a rental car to drive there from one of the coastal towns, I.e., Nice, or Cannes .do you recommend a place to overnight at Gorges du Verdon. In looking on line it’s a bit daunting to try and decide on a good place.
. Or do u think an overnight is nescssary over a day trip. I thank u so much I .have just found your Blog in my research and I like what u have to say!

Hi Cher! Gorges du Verdon is an easy day trip from the French Riviera. However, while you can get there and back in one day, I’d recommend staying in the area for a couple of days rather than rushing back to the Riviera (or wherever your next destination is). That way you can enjoy everything and soak it all in.

There are gorgeous towns dotting the area, it just depends on how close you want to be and what price point you’re after. La Bastide de Moustiers (owned by chef, Alain Ducasse), is a luxe inn that’s just a bit outside of the village center. Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is a beautiful town in the mountains, and not too far from where you want to go. 🙂 I hope that helps a bit!
