Visiting Machu Picchu is one of the top things on my bucket list. I geek out over any ancient civilization and to see this place would be amazing. Thanks for the detailed tips about the hike!

The trek of 4 days is not to be underestimated in terms of physical exertion. I’m lucky in that I had the time to get in pretty good physical shape so, although in my mid 60s, I could handle the climbing, but I must admit it was still harder than I expected. There were a few 18/19/20 year olds in our tour who really struggled. Nevertheless, it was a tremendous experience which I would recommend to anyone (I in reasonable condition). However, it’s not a race so take your time and enjoy the journey…..oh and don’t not expect gourmet cooking. It’s not easy carrying all that stuff up there and the porters/cooks do a tremendous job. I used the services of Southern Peru Explorers, great work:

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
