Planning a trip in September to Greece – first time to Greece . Would love suggestions about what islands to see and great places to stay (reasonably priced) Santorini is on the list of course but looking for 1-2 more islands. Have heard great things about Folegandros. Traveling with 4 55 year olds so I hear we can bypass Mykonos! Ha! Thank you for suggestions!

Other than Santorini i would suggest Rodos and Corfu, more monuments to see, more beaches to explore. In case anyone has health concerns or in case of an emergency, these 3 islands have hospitals, something that Folegandros and Mykons are missing (they have only “health centers”). Enjoy your stay!

    Hi Kiersten,

Thank you for your wonderful blog! My husband and I have the following tentative plans. Travel from May 24 – June 9. We will be in Athens May 25-27, Mykonos May 27-30, Naxos May 30 – June 3, Santorini June 3 – 8, and back to Athens to fly home on the 9th. We want to spend part of our time lounging and sunbathing by the pools and on the beaches. Do you think the weather will be warm enough for this or should we plan our trip another time? We don’t care about being in the sea for a long time……….but we would probably want to take a dip or two! I would appreciate any advice you have. So far we’re planning on staying at Branca in Mykonos and Astra Suites in Santorini.
    Thank you!

    • Hi! You should be fine around those times with weather, just make sure to check beforehand 🙂

There’s something really special about finding a place that feels like your own childhood… and what you always dreamed of for your own kid 🤍

Tucked away in the Cape Winelands, about an hour from Cape Town, South Africa, @camp.canoe is one of those places that somehow feels both completely off-grid and perfectly convenient.

Set on one of my favorite family-friendly wine farms, @boschendal, you get the best of both worlds—wide open space, no distractions, and just enough nearby to make it effortless with little ones (and fun for the adults).

Days here look like:
– swimming in the dam
– slow mornings outside
– wood-fired hot tub soaks
– braai (bbq) under the stars

It’s a little bit luxe, it’s nostalgic, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay just a little bit longer. ✨

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
