Love all your blogposts and stories so much! I grew up and went to college in CA too and then after a stint in NY ended up settling abroad with a foreigner (Brit) too, so we’ve a few things in common… including your passion for travel and photography and so many of your thoughts on wandering and enjoying the world!

And I spent over a decade in the management of SABMiller, parent co of the venerable South African Breweries (one of the only Americans in that team), so I have a lot of experience and friends in SA and love it there too. Would be great to see you there sometime!

Quick question about your San Diego blogpost… You don’t mention Coronado… what do you think about that location for beach/food/fun?

    • The Blonde Abroad

Hi Gary, thanks so much! I haven’t been to Coronado recently, but it’s a very fun area! Definitely worth checking out 🙂

I loved your article on San Diego! I have lived in the area for 8 years, but sometimes forget how much there is to do and see here. It’s easy to get stuck in routines and to quit looking at what surrounds you every day. Thanks for the reminders!

    • The Blonde Abroad

Hey Lois! I totally understand the sentiment, it’s easy to not see some of the “touristy” things when you live in a place for a while…but sometimes it’s fun and eye-opening to go place tourist in your own city! 🙂

Today is a beautiful reminder that the steps we take now ripple into the future. We’re not just caring for nature—we’re caring for generations to come. 🌱👣

Every small shift from ditching plastic, rethinking how we travel, to choosing sustainable over convenient adds up. These everyday choices help protect the planet our kids, nieces, nephews, and future dreamers will one day explore.

It doesn’t have to be perfect or overwhelming. Start small. Stay curious. Keep going. 💚

I’ve shared a few resources in my stories today for anyone looking to make a difference, no matter where you’re starting from.

Let’s protect this beautiful world, together. For today, for tomorrow, for all the tomorrows after that. 🌎✨
