What month did you do this? I’m going to Reykjavik by myself in January…I want to explore Iceland but I’m worried the weather is going to be too dangerous to leave the city…Im from San diego and taking off on my first backpacking trip through Europe! Your tips have helped a lot

    Hi!
I’ve been reading your blog lately, as I am moving to the Netherlands to become an au pair for 15 months and travel. On my way over though, I have a 24 hour layover in Iceland, I am trying to get ideas on things to do for those 24 hours! I definitely want to try the blue lagoon, but is there anything you would recommend?

    • Hi there Kathryn!

I recently started a travel forum on my website so that you can get advice from, not only me, but the entire travel community.

You may find the answer to your questions there. If not, you can direct your questions to the “Destination Specific Travel Questions” forum where you can find a thread on “Iceland Travel” found here: https://theblondeabroad.com/faq-travel-community-forum/

Thanks and looking forward to answering your questions on the forum!

My favorite smart features of my old home! 🏠

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
