I’m really stuck on what theme to use. I have found a theme on envato market that I like but can’t find a lot of information. I have also been looking at Astra on WordPress and really like the idea of custom building my own website but don’t know if I will be able to grow with it? Do you have any advice or experience with these themes?

Hey Charley! In the beginning stages of blogging, it might be better to buy a custom theme as making tweaks and fine-tuning things can take a LOT of time and frustration (I went through this!), especially if you don’t have a background in coding. My site is now custom-built by a wonderful team, so I’m not well-versed in those themes right now.

I love the quote from Big Magic – it’s such an insightful book that’s inspired me to be a lot more creative and daring. This a great all-round post on starting a travel blog and I agree, it really requires passion and commitment even when you’re busy with the parts that just aren’t as much fun.

Hi Daniella! Absolutely. And Big Magic is a favorite of mine!

I put a lot of thought and design into my home, so I knew I had to get curated, high-tech window shades to match.

Enter @rollishades — sleek, custom motorized shades that actually elevate the space while solving the very real sunlight problem. From light-filtering to blackout options, everything is tailored to fit perfectly and controlled with the touch of a button (or app). It’s the kind of smart, intentional design that makes a home feel finished. 🪟🤍

I easily installed these in my guest bedroom and let me just say, when guests come over, they’re getting what feels like a hotel experience in my home (minus the room service).
