Hi Kiersten! Thank you so much for all of the great info in this article.

    Two quick questions:
    1) We are looking to travel the 3rd and 4th week in September. Would you still consider this a reasonable time of year to do a campervan trip around ring road or would we be better off planning this for a different time or year? We are not as concerned about things being closed as we are about safety with the weather.
    2) You stated that your World Nomad insurance helped cover door damage to your campervan. Did you have this insurance only or did you also purchase insurance through the Happy Campers?

    Thank you again!

    • Hi Laura!

From what I’ve heard, September is a fantastic time to visit Iceland. Of course, weather is unpredictable but definitely seems like it would be manageable in September. I would recommend checking with your rental company too.

And I only had World Nomad’s Explorer policy on this trip 🙂

      Enjoy! xx

    Hi Kiersten,

I am so happy that I chance upon ur blog. I am going to book a campervan and I check out World Nomad. However, it stated that the coverage for car damage is only 1500 euro. Wondering how u do get 3000 euro coverage?

Hope to get a reply from you soon?

    • Hey Suzanne! I have the World Nomad’s explorer policy that covers up to $35,000 USD in collision damage.

I’m so excited to share that @the_baby_abroad family travel blog is now live! 👶🏼✈️ TheBabyAbroad.com

I’ll be sharing countless articles addressing the most common travel questions I got throughout my pregnancy, Oliver’s early travels, and now that he’s a BUSY toddler.

Of course, I’ll also be sharing all of my tips for flying with a little one, airline reviews (with kids in mind), comprehensive travel guides on the destinations we’ve traveled as a family, honest product reviews, and everything in between.

But what I’m most excited about is that this will be a community resource with tons of guest authors. Raising a child is such a unique experience for every family, and I personally love to see how ALL types of families travel.

My hope is that The Baby Abroad will become a resource that represents all types of families exploring the world with their kids at every stage of life.

What’s the one product I *always* take when I travel? A power bank!

Like most people, when I travel, I’m out the entire day exploring without the ability to charge my phone.

And I use my phone a LOT for battery-draining functions like maps, transportation, and, of course, taking photos and videos.

The #AnkerMagGo can fully charge most iPhone models at 2x the speed of other 7.5W power banks.

I love the magnetic wireless charging and the built-in folding kickstand for an upright comfortable viewing angle.

No more tangled cords, just sleek, convenient charging on the go!
