  1. As a solo traveler, I always abide by these tips as they are essential 😀 One additional thing that I do is that I email my family a rough itinerary of my plans (specifically flight info and hotel info if I have it at the time), and then I am in contact with them during my trip!

  2. One thing I loved having while I was traveling in Ethiopia was the Stow & Go sports bra by North Face (though I guess any sports bra with a pocket will do). Even though I had zippered pockets everywhere else and a pretty secure bag, I felt so much more comfortable knowing that it’d be more difficult for pick pocketers / bag snatchers.

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
