Great article! I traveled solo to Spain some years ago. I was 22 at the time and people told me I was crazy to go as a woman by myself. But I thought why wait? I didn’t have any friends that could afford it, so should I hold back and not get any experiences because of that? No!

In Spain I met other travelers at hostels, people from Australia and Brazil and I was offered to come and stay with them if I’m ever in those countries. I will take them up on the offer if I go to those countries. In Madrid I met this girl who was from Basque country, but she was studying in Madrid. We hung out for several days and she showed me all kinds of places that I would probably not have seen if she wasn’t my guide. She too offered me a place to stay in Basque country if I was ever there. People were so nice and friendly! It was amazing.

I took a day trip to Morocco. I had been told that it was safe to travel there as a woman. But it was not safe. The men behaved like I was some kind of prostitute. And I was happy when I got my feet on Spanish ground again. Would not reccommend Morocco if you’re a female and traveling alone. But I am aware that it might depend on where in Morocco you go.

  2. For the last 9 years, I have traveled by by myself. At first I thought that it would very lonely. But have learned to love it. You are your own boss, I have done what I want when I want. I’m now going on my 2nd cruise, an I can’t wait. Even thinking about my 3rd cruise, Alaska.
    I love to travel.

There’s something really special about finding a place that feels like your own childhood… and what you always dreamed of for your own kid 🤍

Tucked away in the Cape Winelands, about an hour from Cape Town, South Africa, @camp.canoe is one of those places that somehow feels both completely off-grid and perfectly convenient.

Set on one of my favorite family-friendly wine farms, @boschendal, you get the best of both worlds—wide open space, no distractions, and just enough nearby to make it effortless with little ones (and fun for the adults).

Days here look like:
– swimming in the dam
– slow mornings outside
– wood-fired hot tub soaks
– braai (bbq) under the stars

It’s a little bit luxe, it’s nostalgic, and it’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay just a little bit longer. ✨

Spending a year abroad sounds exciting… until you see the planning involved.

Flights, edits, contracts, itineraries — not to mention the admin of being a mom. I’m usually running everything at once, so having a laptop that can keep up makes a huge difference.

I’ve been using an AMD Ryzen AI–powered laptop to keep everything organized, run AI tools even when WiFi isn’t available, and work from wherever we happen to be in the world.

So I can finish what I need to do… and get back to what’s most important ❤️
